High Intensity Care

Tumaini Disability provides High Intensity Supports for NDIS participants. We deliver high quality care from qualified and experienced staff, to the highest standards and with attention to every detail. We also recognise the intensely personal nature of certain high care supports.

Accommodation & Respite

Respite Care is temporary care to provide family caregivers relief from the full-time care they have been providing for a loved one.

At Tumaini Disability, our services are contract-free and respite care can be arranged on a temporary basis with no obligation to continue home services once we are no longer needed.

What is life skills training and development?

Tumaini Disability can help you work on goals to develop your independence, confidence and everyday life skills so that you can make the most of your life. We want to help you live as autonomously as possible through the growth of skills such as problem-solving, communication, social, daily activities, critical thinking and more.

We will develop your skills in:

✓ Increasing your personal hygiene is an important aspect of developing your wellbeing. A good sense of wellbeing allows you to gain the confidence you deserve to feel.
✓ Training in how to use public transport enables you to become more independent to travel where you please.
✓ Growing your communication skills allows you to interact with others and verbalise your needs easier so that others can understand you and the support you require.
✓ Deciding and solving problems. Our Support Worker Specialists can help you when decisions get tricky and challenging.
✓ Advocating for your needs and contacting the people and providers who support you. The NDIS and other services can get confusing. Your Support Worker and Support Coordinator can help you get your wishes heard.
✓ Learning how to regulate your emotions and handle situations when they become overwhelming.
✓ Planning healthy eating through activities like grocery shopping and cooking. Nutrition is very important to live a healthy life .
